Feeding Frenzy
Birds swoop in and start to nibble
More arrive and begin to quibble
Chasing each other round and round
To see who is the alpha bird in this town
The entertainment provided is such a delight
They get their fill and then take flight

Well-constructed poem Ron! A delightful image and topic too.
Thanks.
NIce poem. I especially like the lines: “Chasing each other round and round
To see who is the alpha bird in this town”
You’ve described my every morning with tea in hand. We have decided the purple finch thinks he is the ruler.
Thanks for the prompt. I think this one wrote itself.
Touching moments…v nice verse..
Delightfully rhymed!
Thanks. I do like rhymes. My orignal first line ended with the word frenzy, but alas, I could find no rhyme, so I moved it to the title.
Wise move! You are welcome, Ron.
do you really think they’re fighting to be alpha? 😀

It could just be greed, gluteny, or the desire to eat alone. Then again, maybe momma never taught them to share. So, is it nature or nurture?
Oh, I love watching the birds on our feeder.
They can keep us entertained for hours.
Beautiful!! 🙂
Aww, I like this.
