In reply to Ingrid. Yes, while both are "markets" they are quite different. The Barcelona market was mostly vendors of a single or group of items (fruits, meats, etc) and a few with seats where you could eat. Lisbon is almost entirely high-end gourmet restaurants with renowned chefs, although a couple were focused on single food items (donuts and yogurt come to mind), and the giant wine dispensary in the middle of the eating area.

In reply to rothpoetry. We were there during the height of COVID (at the time). Spain and Portugal have some of the highest vaccination rates in the world. We felt much safer there than in the US. Tourism was low, but the locals were out in full force.
