Driftwood Beach
With the red clay soil of central Georgia behind me
I watch the coastal grasslands extending to the sea
Anxiously awaiting the upcoming blue ribbon of the ocean
Where I’m always mesmerized by its entrancing motion
The eastern shore of Jekyll Island is home to a driftwood beach
It stretches out much further than my poor eyes can reach
Live Oaks and their deep dark wood once stood here colossal
But the constant sea and blazing sun turned them into fossils
To Mother Nature’s genius, I am grateful and inspired
Transforming mundane objects into something quite admired

Love this poem! The picture of the beach with all the driftwood is cool too.
Nice to see you have your own blog, Ron!
Thanks
