Just Another Day
The shuttle returns
from destinations unknown
with new tales to tell
as another day unfolds
aboard the Starship Zephyr.

My poem in response to Linda Kruschke’s Paint Chip Poetry Challenge Prompt #46. This week’s theme comes from A Treasury of Christian Poetry. It’s a poem called “Obedience.” The paint chip words and phrases are starship, zephyr, slow, black widow, coffee, lemonade, and sunny-side up. Pick two or three, and no more, of these words and phrases and write a tanka. That means you get a total of 31 syllables written in lines of 5/7/5/7/7.

I love it. It’s fun to see which words people choose when they aren’t supposed to use them all.
love this! Nice use of the words. Its hard to NOT use them all.
“Starship Zephyr” — that’s fantastic!
