One of These Poems Is Not Like The Others
Linda challenged us with paints chips as usual this week
She pulled chips from the deck and says she didn’t peek
She did confess the deck had never seen a shuffle
And six of the chips were neighbors in this kerfuffle
The seventh chip came from elsewhere, unlike its brothers
She asked us to guess which one of these things is not like the others
Peachy, nectar, and coral are cousins in color it would seem
Lipstick, brick, and the whole enchilada are on the same team
The sand dollar hue stands alone by itself quite the quirk
No guessing required, the process of elimination at work
While others strive to work the colors into poetic lines
I just feed back the instructions with a little added rhyme

Linked to Linda Kruschke’s Paint Chip Poetry Challenge Prompt #32. The challenge is to write a poem in response to the prompt. The topic is One of These Things Is Not Like the Others. This one is going to take some creative thinking. The prompt words and phrases are lipstick, brick, the whole enchilada, sand dollar, peachy, nectar, and coral. Linda says, “I will confess that six of these were right next to each other in the never-been-shuffled deck and the seventh was from a different part of the deck. Maybe you can guess which one is that seventh paint chip?”

Process of elimination served you well. And I love your poem. Sorry your link had to be rescued from spam.
After I wrote and submitted my poem, I was thinking about the list of words and came up with the same conclusion, even though my poem revealed something different. I love the creativity of each person. I love how you took the instructions and made it a poem!
Hahaha, this is great, Ron!
