Sunset Blue
Until three days ago
I never saw a sunset blue
it wasn’t a bad omen
quite the opposite is true
A handsome young man
was the center of attention
it was graduation day
a fact I probably should mention
Celebration was in order
commencing a new life phase
college life now behind him
sun setting on those days
The sunset was blue
can’t explain why it was so
perhaps it was sad that
this chapter was now closed
Out into the world
now armed with a degree
and a lifetime of love
from friends and family
These tools will support him
through life’s journey
confident in his success
of this we all agree
Yes, the sunset blue
and outward it spread
a signal to this young man
there’s a new dawn ahead

That is a gorgeous sunset Ron. Congratulations on your son’s graduation. Such an exciting time!
Thanks Dwight, grandson actually, and yes, an exciting and wonderful time.
Oops.. Grandson! An exciting time non the less.
You still look 45!! :>)
Beautiful! My nephew just graduated college and this made me get a little teary again. 💙
Tears of love and joy are so much better than ones of pain and sorrow.
Beautiful:
‘now armed with a degree
and a lifetime of love
from friends and family’
Though the former is commendable, the latter is indispensable!
Completely agree.
Congratulations to your son on his graduation, Ron! You must be so proud. And a blue sunset marked the occasion.
It was indeed a special occasion worth marking.
What an interesting idea, Ron, I would never have thought that such a thing exists! Mazal tov!

Sometimes the camera captures what us humans fail to see.
What a great way to view this transition from day to night. From college to the life beyond-a proud blue, I imagine.
Absolutely gorgeous, the sunset and the poem.
A blue sunset in honor of your graduating young man. There has to be a message there!
Beautiful poem of a journey over the threshold of adulthood Ron. Well written.
A sunset blue, sounds like a magical sight filled with promise.
