What is Showing?
The theater is empty now,
although the show goes on
Who hears the gentle clicking
of the film in the projector?
Who sees the moving images
upon the tattered screen?
No house lights come up
as the ending credits roll by
With no one there to witness,
is it really showing at all?

The image inspired me to pen this empty theater corollary to “if a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it, did it really make a sound?”
