Blues Hall Juke Joint

Down there on Beale Street
is a joint you need to know
where they play the Delta Blues
‘til you hurt down to your toes

Some nights though
this juke joint is rockin’
just come right on in
there’s no need to be knockin’

  1. I believe I lived a previous life in The Big Easy. Don’t clearly recall if I saxed it; might’ve been a drummer. The 1st time I visited, I knew my way around the Quarter as if I’d grown up there. It totally freaked out my Ex (and me, too, to be honest).

  2. Let’s hear it for every juke joint in the world … past / present. Love your quadrille! It rocks.

  3. I had the pleasure of visiting Beale St. and may or may not have been to the Blues Hall. There were so many to explore. Your poem brought back memories of the music and the atmosphere. There is nothing like the blues.
