Tranquility
tranquility is the state I seek
that gratifying level of consciousness
where all fear and doubts vanish
calmness propagates
along mesmerizing streams
soothing the bumps of my being
flowing waters of meditation
smooth the rough edges of the day
that is all I seek

The water massaging away the bumps. Great idea, Ron. Calming quadrille.
thanks
What you seek is sure to be found in a little stream tumbling over stones smoothed by the passage of time and gentle waters!
To me, clear & shallow streams (like the one in the pic) are one of the most beautiful and pleasant sights on the planet.
I seek that too. Maybe one day. : ‘) Beautifully penned.
Thanks. Just try to find your stream.
How calming.
Gently flowing water does that to me.
I can see why you feel at peace in that place. Your poem reads like a meditation.
Yes, going through my photos of that day brought back many peaceful memories.
“soothing the bumps of my being”
– Oh, YES, please! Water does this for me, as well.
We all have a few bumps we could do without.
This reminds me when I am sitting streamside and the sound of the water is like a calming sigh in my body. I really like this line, “soothing the bumps of my being,” It rings true for me.
Thanks for this poem.
Yes, you understand.
soothing indeed. thanks ron
Thanks for stopping by.
Yes, it’s those bumps that make for a less than smooth ride. Brilliant poem, Ron.
Thanks. Some people seek out and thrive on those bumps, but I prefer a smooth ride.
Me, too.
ah yes… tranquility. I like your metaphor of the water. It feels peaceful and cleansing.
Very nice — comforting. Well done.
Ron, do you do meditation?
This poem put my mind at ease 🙂
Yours,
David
I probably do not do anything that meets the technical definition of meditation, at least not knowingly. I just like to relax and enjoy my surroundings.
The tranquility you described slowed my mind, my heart rate … beautiful.
I’m glad to be of assistance.
This seems to be a perfect goal to seek, to me!
So beautiful! May tranquility surround us … 💝💝
